The second in the scheme of the tournament from sport tips series "Masters 1000" in Montreal Andy Murray qualified for the quarterfinals.
The Scot won with 6:3, 6:2 over Gilles Muller from Luxembourg and so recorded his 50th win of the season. He became the second tennis player with such achievement after Novak Djokovic.
Murray made four breakthroughs in the game and conceded just one. He won also his fifth match against the left-hander from the Grand Duchy. In the next round the Olympic champion awaits the winner of the 2014 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who ousteded Bernard Tomic with 7:6 (7), 6:3.
The Washington champion Kei Nishikori also continues. The Japanese won in a match of the evening session David Goffin from Belgium with 6:4, 6:4.
At the quarterfinals Nishikori expects Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard deal with the Russian veteran Mikhail Youzhny with 6:3, 6:3. Rafa made three breaks and affect all three break point of the opponent.
