The world number 17 Kiki Bertens made an impressive turn with 3:6, 6:4, 6:2 against the sixth in the world rankings Petra Kvitova and qualified in the finals of the Premier 5 series in Cincinnati. The Dutch is the winner of Charleston, and now for the third time in the season will fight for the title after failing in Madrid (otherwise she is a Wimbledon quarterfinals). That success is seventh consecutive to her over rivals of the top 10, and for her victory it took 1 hour and 56 minutes, and in the final mentioned by tennis predictions she will face the world number 1 Simona Halep or Aryna Sabalenka.
The duel between the two was not full of winning hits, as both were betting on a more conservative tactic. The pitches were relatively long, mainly by sending the ball in the middle of the court from the baseline. Normally, when some one tried to change direction or be more aggressive, usually one or two strokes later came to a mistake. At the start of the meeting, Kvitova was the one who was moving better, but later the tiredness in her was the word and she did not have any particularly resisting forces in the third set. The Czech returned the breakthrough in the second, but instantly allowed a rebike, and from that point onwards the scales leaned in favor of Bertens.
